Messing about with the acrylics :)
A map ive created for samseys comic project. To be honest I put so much more effort into this map than I did my own, I think this one is far better so im gonna go back and update my old map ideas so they dont seem so bad in comparison.
Its a fantastic colourful world, I hope I did it justice with my map.
This is the second map ive created for my up and coming comic project. One more map to go (future themed, one map for each age, past present and future in fantasy settings). This age of the world is strongly divided into large countries, big powers and will feature a steampunk setting, floating ships and industry and the likes, much crime and progress. Drawing the maps out is very exiting for me and is good for my imagination when it comes to the ideas process. When ive finished the next map I will go about designing towns, characters, races and tribes in imagery as well as comics and literature for this world.
Ive still yet to decide on a name for the world though, which is proving very difficult, im bad with names!
I’ve been wanting to draw up some map ideas for a while now, I love the old style pixel effect, like an old 90s jRPG game or something. Ive been toying with the idea of having 3 time frames, past present and future type thing, so I might do a map for each of them.
I think it would be fantastic to have a map tie in with the work ive been producing over the years, I feel like I have been building up a fairly consistent world in my head and maybe its time for me to try and piece some of it together, it might help me create my comic, or come up with inspiration. I think a map would help me do just that.
Phew, this one was hard work, I couldn’t decide weather to keep the lineart or have it without. Kept tweaking and tweaking things until I had to just finish it before I get annoyed!

I created this as a second attempt to the ‘Dockyard Fishing’ piece that I did around this time last year, so I can guage how much improvement ive had in my art in 2011! and im pretty pleased with the results :) Okay, maybe I havent improved as much as I could have in a year but I really do think the improvement is there. In comparison to my first version its far better.
A fan art piece that I created on the american music duo Beach House. I love their music and you should check it out if you like slow paced melancholy stuff. Pleased that my style is maturing a lot this year & I can see that a lot in this piece, especially in colour, Hell yeah!
Feels good to create a personal piece instead of just college work that ive been doing lately
